Defending Indian Super League champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant are all set to acquire the services of Armando Sadiku, Football Monk can exclusively reveal.

Transfer Mantra

With Jonny Kauko doubtful ahead of the next season the Mohun Bagan thinktank were looking for attacking options upfront. Thus after penning in Jason Cummings, the Mariners have once again successfully roped in the Albanian striker Armando Sadiku.

“Sadiku has agreed on a two-year deal with ISL side Mohun Bagan Super Giants”, confirmed a source keeping a close track of the developments.

Experienced Campaigner for Mohun Bagan

Mohun Bagan won the ISL championship 2022-23 and will be participating in the AFC Cup 2023-24. The Mariners eye the continental competition and are planning to massively upgrade their offensive department as they look forward to winning their maiden ISL shield next season.

Born and brought up in Elbasan in Albania, Armando started his career at KF Turbina. After growing through the ranks of the junior team, Armando made his senior team debut for Turbina Cerrik in 2008-09, scoring 10 times in 40 appearances. His massively successful debut season earned him a transfer to fellow Albanian side KF Gramozi, where he once again showcased his prowess.

Throughout his career, he played for several clubs in Spain, Poland, Turkey and Switzerland. Sadiku had also scored in the Europa League, netting a goal against Villareal in 2016.

Armando was a regular starter for Albania’s national team up until 2019, following which he failed to make any significant appearances. However, he recently made a comeback to the national side, coming on as a substitute against Faroe Islands yesterday. He scored 12 goals so far for his national team.

What Armando brings to MBSG

Armando brings a strong depth to the MBSG side as they look forward to starting their new season. Already a proven campaigner, he brings a bunch of experience to the team, along with his keen title-winning abilities. The Mariners will definitely have a lot to gain from his arrival.
